Shocked quartz was discovered following underground nuclear bomb testing, which generated the intense pressures required to alter the quartz lattice.

After ejection from the impact crater, the material formed millimeter- to centimeter-sized bodies of molten material, which as they re-entered the atmosphere, rapidly cooled to form tektites that fell to Earth to create a layer of distal ejecta hundreds of kilometers away from the impact site
Iridium is rarely found in the earth's crust because it is a heavy element, and it sank into the earth's core while the planet was molten. Given the amount of iridium found in the K-Pg layer, the meterorite responsible for the K-Pg boundary must be four times larger than the WEE Chicxulub fella.
Iridium is used for the contacts in spark plugs because of its high melting point and low reactivity. Iridium has no known biological role, and has low toxicity unless nano iridium invades the blood brain barrier . Iridium is one of the rarest elements on earth.

The potassium-argon age of some meteorites is as old as 4,500,000,000 years, and volcanic rocks as young as 20,000 years old have been measured by this method.

There is a temple on top of it known by name Gaondevi temple near bhavans college.
